Our manual driving aids, not just hand controls, are intended for people with leg disabilities and those with leg disabilities to drive a car. Mainly those who have descriptions such as “accelerator and brake are limited to manual” and “limited to automatic vehicles” as conditions of driver’s license. You can take driving lessons using our hand controls.
By graduating from a designated driving school, you will be exempted from the practical test at the driver’s license examination center. At driving schools listed in Nikodora support driving schools nationwide, customers can use it for driving without purchasing and bringing in hand controls themselves.

Under the Road Traffic Act, there is no problem with driving a car on public roads using hand controls. Even if your driver’s license does not indicate the conditions, you can use the hand control without any problems. In addition, it is a device that does not pose any problems even when compared with the safety standards stipulated by the Road Transport Vehicle Act.
* If you drive a car that does not meet the conditions of your driver’s license, you will be subject to penalties. For example, a person whose driver’s license states that “only manual accelerator braking” is required may drive a car on public roads without using a manual driving assist device.

No special application form is required by the transportation branch office or police station to drive with hand controls.

Each prefecture has a consultation desk for those who have concerns about obtaining a driver’s license or continuing to drive due to a physical disability or illness that presents certain symptoms. Our hand control corresponds to the designated parts of the Road Trucking Vehicle Act and can be used on public roads.

Non-disabled passengers (who do not have a disability certificate or have no conditions on their driver’s license) can also use the hand control to drive on public roads. For example, customers undergoing hernia, diabetes, and Achilles tendon rupture treatments also use the hand control.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but it is difficult to investigate all countries, so please check directly with the car rental company in your country.

Since 2017, installation of the hand control has been approved at rental car stores that are members of the Japan Rent-A-Car Association, so you can use the hand control at any rental car store nationwide.

2013年から現在まで東京都品川区、神奈川県横浜市では着脱可能な運転補助装置については補助の対象外と回答が来ております。その他の地方自治体では補助の対象となっておりますので通常通り補助を申請いただけます。

身体障害者自動車改造補助金について

手動運転補助装置を車両に取り付ける際の費用を補助する制度です。 障害者手帳に「下肢障害」や「体幹障害」と記載されており、運転免許証に手動運転装置の条件が付されている方が交付の対象となります。補助金額の上限・所得制限・障害の等級・交付対象となる車両の台数などの運用条件や申請方法は地域によって大きく異なりますので、各地域の担当窓口（お客様のお住まいの地区の役所または役場の「福祉担当課」）までお問い合わせください。

初めて手動運転装置をお使いになる方へ

同居家族がお使いの車にも仕様車の情報を更新することで、補助金の対象になる場合がございます。

既に手動運転補助装置をお使いの方へ

原則として、現在お乗りになられている自動車に対して補助金の交付を受けている場合は申請ができません。 
お乗り換えなどで新規車両をご購入される際は申請可能です。

消費税の非課税について

ハンドコントロールを取り付けた自動車を購入する場合、車両本体及び車両の引き渡し時に装着する 部用品（純正部品、用品、店舗購入の用品全て）の、合計金額にかかる消費税が非課税になります。

補助金申請書類を申込む

ハンドコントロールをはじめ、弊社の製品は消費税の課税対象です。消費税法の一部を改正する法律（平成３年法律第７３号）の施行に伴う身体障害者用物品の非課税扱いについて、また、消費税法施行令第十四条の四の規定に基づき厚生労働大臣が指定する身体障害者用物品及びその修理の一部を改正する件をご確認ください。

自動車重量税の非課税措置、減免措置はございません。
